The AM1 was designed by iconic shaper, Al Merrick. This template offers a wider base for drive off of the bottom and a refined tip for release off the top, while the additional rake provides hold through carves. The Control Series construction of fiberglass and uni-carbon is stiff and durable, making them ideal for controlling speed in heavy conditions. These fins fit into the 1 - 3 Ride Number range as the most Speed Controlling options in our line.

CONSTRUCTION CONTROL SERIES

  • The Control Series are the lightest fiberglass fins we’ve ever made! The addition of carbon fiber has allowed us to utilize a slimmer profile for less weight & drag without sacrificing control

FOIL SYMMETRICAL FOIL

  • Symmetrical foil rear fins on quads give a fluid consistent feeling that is predictable in all conditions and is enhanced on quads when the rear fins are placed closely together.

The New Fiberglass Same Control. Less Weight.?

The Control Series is an upgrade to our fiberglass line. Now featuring a layer of uni-carbon strips which give them a much more dynamic response. This addition also allowed us to give these fins a thinner profile. This translates to a lighter-weight fin and a decrease in drag without sacrificing the durability or control you’d expect from a fiberglass fin. The Control Series is also a great addition to our Ride Number story, contrasting with Speed Generating fins such as Blackstix or the Generation Series. These fins will fit into the 1 to 3 Ride Number range as the most Speed Controlling options in our line. Make sure to have a set of these in your fin quiver for powerful conditions.

Thinner Profile - Reduced Weight & Drag?

  • With a solid material like fiberglass, the only way to reduce weight is to reduce mass. We reduced the thickness of these fins by 5% which results in a lighter fin with less drag. Now you’re flying!?

Uni-Carbon - Strength & Resiliency?

  • After thinning out the profile, we were left with a fin that was too flexible. To compensate, we added in a layer of uni-carbon which provides all the stiffness you’d expect from a fiberglass fin with an added bonus of resiliency. ?

Indestructible - Fiberglass Can Take A Beating!?

  • When you’re surfing in shallow waters or paddling across the reef, your fins might take a hit. Luckily, Fiberglass will stand the test of time! Simply sand away any ding, scratch or imperfection and they’re good as new!

Built For Power! - Ideal For Powerful Conditions

  • When you’re taking off late and stalling, controlling your speed is everything. The Control Series was built for just that... hence the name. If you’re planning to come face to face with heavy conditions, make sure to have these fins in your arsenal.
