Easy steps to keep your made-to-order Florence wetsuit working season after season.

The typical wetsuit lifecycle goes like this: you do your research, find the right wetsuit for you, and buy it. With the mass production of neoprene and the increasingly shoddy production seen across the industry, you’re lucky if your wetsuit lasts more than one winter.

Wetsuits ending up in the landfill have a serious impact on the environment, so with that in mind and the goal of providing a better experience for our customers, we worked with specialty craftsmen in Japan to create the best wetsuit imaginable.

Each suit is built one by one and made to order so we can avoid buying excess suits in bulk that may end up in the landfill. The premium materials and precision construction means they last longer than the average suit, but just like your vehicle, they require maintenance every year to maximize longevity and performance. It’s typical in Japanese surf culture to have your wetsuit serviced in the off-season to be repaired and prepared for when the colder water returns. This includes using everyday wetsuit glue to repair any blind-stitched seams that may have come undone with expected wear and tear.

We provide glue with every custom wetsuit purchase so you can carry out this minor but valuable maintenance at home. Simply follow the steps below on how to use the glue. If anything’s unclear, reach out to our customer service or to us on Discord and we’ll get you sorted.

A couple pro tips before we get started:

  • Do the repair outside for good ventilation.
  • Wear gloves.
  • Use a craft stick to manipulate the glue into the seams.
