Inspired by beautiful twin-fin designs of the past and built using Jon Pyzel's curves and contours, the Wildcat blends classic aesthetics with the type of performance-driven surfing Pyzel is known for. It delivers incredible speed, effortless flow and easy surfing while maintaining the drive, responsiveness and manoeuvrability needed for modern surfing.
The Wildcat has been designed to paddle easily, accelerate quickly and carry speed through softer sections while remaining lively and responsive through turns. Combining a clean bottom curve, modern rail design and a channel-enhanced rounded pin tail, it offers a unique balance of speed, control and performance that works in a huge variety of conditions.
Surfboard Features Outline – A blend of traditional and modern design with the wide point positioned just forward of centre, a moderately wide nose and a classic single wing rounded pintail. The wing and pin tail work together with the channels to provide both drive and manoeuvrability, allowing for snappy pivot turns and sweeping carves. Rocker – Clean, relatively flat bottom curve designed to create excellent paddle speed and easy acceleration from the moment you get to your feet. Rails – Modern shortboard-style rails with extra foam removed to improve sensitivity, bite and responsiveness through turns. Bottom Contour – Single to double concave running throughout the bottom, blending into a moderate vee and four channels running off the tail. This combination helps the board roll effortlessly from rail to rail, adds extra bite off the bottom and responds quickly to weight shifts while maintaining speed through softer sections. Tail – Classic single wing rounded pintail designed to balance drive, control and manoeuvrability. Deck– Foam distribution concentrated under the chest area to help keep you higher on the water and paddling efficiently.
Surfboard Performance The Wildcat combines the speed, flow and easy surfing that make twin fins so addictive with the responsiveness and performance expected from a modern Pyzel design. The relatively flat rocker creates excellent paddle speed and effortless acceleration, while the single to double concave generates lift and speed throughout the wave.
The moderate vee and four-channel tail help the board transition smoothly from rail to rail, adding bite and control when pushed through turns. Combined with the winged rounded pin tail, the result is a board capable of both snappy, pivoted direction changes and long, drawn-out carving turns while maintaining impressive speed through flatter sections.
