Introducing the Pyzel Phantom Two! An updated version of one of Pyzel's most popular daily drivers, the Original Phantom, and the newest member of the Ghost Family. The Phantom Two is a squashed down, souped up daily driver with added volume, designed for everyday sessions in less than epic conditions.
Part of the Ghost Family, the Phantom Two is a step down based on the Ghost rocker, designed to be your go-to board for slower, weaker waves in everyday conditions while still being highly capable in good waves. Pyzel has refined the original design to improve its best characteristics, easy speed, fast paddling, stability and manoeuvrability, without taking away what made the Phantom so popular.
At the end of the development process, Pyzel made one for John John Florence without telling him what it was. After just a few surfs, his feedback was simple: "This board is really fun, I really like it!"
Surfboard Features
Rocker – Based on the Ghost rocker, with added nose rocker through the last 12" to help make later, steeper take-offs easier without sacrificing paddling speed.
Outline – Added width through the nose and tail creates a fuller, more parallel outline, helping maintain speed through slower sections and tight turns.
Concave – Deep single concave to flatten out the rocker through the centre, creating lift, speed and flow without taking away from the overall performance or feel of the original design.
Tail – New hip squash tail outline allowing for more pivotal surfing and tighter radius turns than the original Phantom. The slightly pulled-in squash provides more hold in tight sections and easy manoeuvrability overall.
Rails – Soft and forgiving, medium/full rails with a gentle taper, providing more flotation and speed without taking away sensitivity underfoot.
Volume – Added volume carried through the chest area of the board for solid paddle performance without too much overall thickness.
Tail – Squash and Round Tail Option Available.
Surfboard Performance
The Phantom Two builds on the original Phantom's easy speed, fast paddling, stability and manoeuvrability, with refinements designed to improve its performance without taking away its best characteristics.
The added nose rocker through the last 12" helps with later, steeper take-offs, while the deep single concave creates lift, speed and flow. Added width through the nose and tail helps maintain speed through slower sections and tight turns, and the new hip squash tail allows for more pivotal surfing and tighter radius turns.
With soft, forgiving rails and volume carried through the chest, the Phantom Two provides flotation, speed and solid paddle performance while maintaining sensitivity underfoot.

Round Tail vs Squash Tail
The Pyzel Phantom Two is available in both Round Tail and Squash Tail options, each offering a slightly different feel and performance in the surf. Both options retain the Phantom Two's easy speed, paddle power and everyday versatility.
Squash Tail: Offers a looser, more responsive feel, allowing for more pivotal surfing, tighter radius turns and easy manoeuvrability. Ideal for everyday conditions and quick direction changes.
Round Tail: Provides a smoother, more controlled feel with added hold through turns, particularly in steeper, faster and more powerful waves.
Recommended Sizing
Depending on your ability, ride the Phantom Two around your height, a touch wider and about the same thickness as your Ghost or current high-performance shortboard. For intermediate surfers, Pyzel recommends going bigger and wider. The Phantom Two is designed to help raise your performance level without sacrificing the paddle power, speed and stability that benefit your surfing.
