The Phantom keeps a high-performance edge but shifts the focus toward speed, flow, and added forgiveness when the waves are less than epic.
The Pyzel Phantom XL takes everything surfers love about the standard Phantom and scales it into a larger dims, added-volume version for surfers wanting more paddle power, easier wave entry, and extra stability without losing the board’s everyday high-performance feel. It keeps the same Ghost-inspired rocker, added single concave, and fuller parallel outline, but with more foam under the chest and through the rails, making it a strong option for bigger surfers or anyone wanting the Phantom’s speed and flow with a little more forgiveness underfoot.

Recommended Surf Conditions
Best suited to waist-high to slightly overhead waves across everyday beach breaks, softer points, and mixed conditions where maintaining speed is key. The Phantom comes into its own when the surf has flatter sections or less push but you still want a board that feels lively underfoot. In New Zealand, that makes it a strong fit for average Piha days or fun Mount Maunganui runners where a little extra flow and easy speed go a long way.
