PYZEL GHOST SURFBOARD

Introducing the Pyzel Ghost Round Tail Surfboard a proven design from Pyzel Surfboards, famously ridden by John John Florence during his 2017 World Title campaign. Built for performance in hollow, more powerful waves, the Ghost has earned its place as a go-to surfboard for reef breaks, dumpy beachies, and point breaks when the swell pushes past 4ft.

The Ghost outline has the wide point pushed slightly forward of centre, while the nose area is kept down and the tail is slightly pulled in to help the board fit right into the pocket of the wave and hold nicely in the barrel. The thickness is also pushed forward which helps get you into waves easily, while the tail and rails are thinned out to help hold through barrels and high-speed turns. The rocker is medium to low through the front half of the board providing lots of paddle power and easy speed generation from the get-go, with plenty of rocker in the tail for turning control and snappy responsiveness. A single concave runs through the entire bottom, with a double concave set inside, which equals speed and life when on rail and over flat spots while allowing for quick rail-to-rail transitions.

Rocker – Medium to low entry rocker with increased tail rocker
Rails – Thinned-out rails for control through barrels and high-speed turns
Concave – Single concave through the entire bottom with a double concave set inside
Tail – Round tail for smooth control and hold through turns
Fins – 5 Fin set up ( 3 fin can be custom ordered) 
Construction / Glassing – Stock under 6'2": 4+4oz deck / 4oz bottom | Over 6'2": 6+4oz deck / 4oz bottom. Stock is PU (Epoxy can be custom ordered) 

Surfboard Performance
The Pyzel Ghost is designed to offer performance in hollower, more powerful waves and has proven to work extremely well across reef breaks, dumpy beachies, and point breaks when the swell is 4ft+. It’s one of the first truly high-performance boards that still works for a wide range of surfers, making it a reliable one-board option when travelling to destinations with consistent, quality surf. The forward thickness helps with paddling and wave entry, while the refined tail and rail combination maintains control through barrels and high-speed sections. The balanced rocker profile delivers easy speed generation while still allowing for tight, responsive turns when needed

Recommended Surf Conditions
Best suited to hollow, more powerful waves from 4ft and up where the board can engage its rail and hold through steeper sections. It performs well across reef breaks, punchy beach breaks, and lined-up point waves. In New Zealand, this lines up with solid days at Raglan or more exposed, powerful surf around Taranaki where the waves have enough push to match the Ghost’s design.
